This is from an original oil painting inspired by a magazine cover, commissioned as a tribute in early 1981, just after Lennon had been murdered. The painting has had a life of its own. It hung in the local courthouse, was kidnapped for ransom by the chief Judge who objected to the funny cigarette, made the front page of the Orlando Sentinel, and was removed from a popular restaurant after customer complaints. It just generally caused a stir where ever it went. He's been quiet for the last few years but I'm sure he'll turn up again.
