This is a watercolor of my old friend JT Williams aka Sugarboo. JT has always been a hard working man. Quite a few years ago he opened the award winning Sugarboo's, a weekend only Bar B Q joint in Mt. Dora, Florida. It was a roaring success, where JT and his wife, Tina, served some of the best barbecue in the southeast. Unfortunately for us barbecue fanatics, they have since retired. In this piece, I tried to capture the grease and grime of the barbecue pit, but more importantly, JT's character, and the honor and dignity of hard work. The original painting hangs in the Valley Smoke Restaurant in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
